Abdulkadir Jelani Danbuga, a member representing Isa-Sabon Birni federal constituency in the House of Representatives is dead.
The All Progressives Congress (APC), lawmaker died in an Abuja hospital on Wednesday morning after a brief illness.
Sources say his remains would be taken to the National Mosque for the bathing ritual after which it would be flown to Sokoto for burial around 11 a.m. on Wednesday.
Danbuga leaves behind two wives, many children and grandchildren.
