President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will embark on an official visit to the People’s Republic of China in the first week of September.
This trip, as highlighted by Ajuri Ngelale, Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, is part of the current administration’s commitment to enhance the well-being of Nigerians through international partnerships.
During his visit, President Tinubu is scheduled to meet with Chinese President Xi Jinping on the sidelines of the 2024 Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) scheduled for 4-6 September 2024. The meeting aims to strengthen bilateral relations and is expected to culminate in the signing of several Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) that could pave the way for collaborative projects between Nigeria and China.
Additionally, President Tinubu will engage with ten Chief Executive Officers from leading Chinese companies across key sectors, including oil and gas, aluminium production, agriculture, and satellite technology. These discussions are anticipated to foster investment opportunities and technological advancements beneficial to Nigeria’s economy.
