In an ambitious move that underscores China’s growing presence in space exploration, the country is set to embark on a groundbreaking endeavour to conduct approximately 100 space launch missions this year.
This announcement was made during a press conference on Monday, revealing a significant milestone for China’s space program.
The launches include the maiden flight from China’s first commercial spacecraft launch site in addition to more satellite liftoffs to form constellations, according to the press conference.
Notably, China’s inaugural commercial spacecraft launch site is currently in the works in Wenchang, situated in the tropical island province of Hainan in southern China. This development marks a strategic advancement for China’s space capabilities and signifies the country’s commitment to expanding its presence in the space industry.
The China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation (CASC), a pivotal player in the nation’s space sector responsible for developing rocket series, unveiled the 2023 blue book of China aerospace science and technology during the same press conference.
