The 2024 World Economic Forum takes place from 15-19 January in Davos, Switzerland.
Here are quick facts of the 54th annual meeting:
The World Economic Forum is an International Organization for Public-Private Cooperation that engages political, business, cultural and other world leaders to shape global, regional and industry agendas.
Established in 1971 as a not-for-profit foundation and headquartered in Geneva, Switzerland, the World Economic Forum is independent, impartial and not tied to any special interests.
More than 300 public figures will participate in the 2024 forum, including more than 60 heads of state, government and international organizations.
An estimated 1,600 business leaders, including over 800 top CEOs and chairs from the World Economic Forum’s Members and Partners, will participate in this year’s meeting.
Global innovators, heads of the world’s leading universities, research institutions, think tanks, labour unions, nongovernment organizations, religious leaders and tech pioneers will also attend the meeting.
With the theme, “Rebuilding Trust”, the 2024 meeting aims to restore collective agency and reinforce the fundamental principles of transparency, consistency and accountability among leaders.
The meeting is organized around four areas – Achieving Security and Cooperation in a Fractured World; Creating Growth and Jobs for a New Era; Artificial Intelligence as a Driving Force for the Economy and Society; and A Long-Term Strategy for Climate, Nature and Energy.
Throughout the week, sessions will feature the latest proposals for progress on global security, trade, economic growth, jobs, climate and nature action, the energy transition, technological disruption, and health and well-being.
