In its quest to offer career opportunities to young Nigerians in Information Communications Technology (ICT), Huawei, a leading Chinese Technology firm on Wednesday organized an ICT Job fair at the International Conference Center, Abuja.
Mr Osita Nweze, Deputy Managing Director of Huawei Nigeria in his remarks, said the job fair is aimed at discovering young Nigerian talents, providing them with relevant ICT skills and career opportunities in Huawei and other partner firms and organizations looking to employ youths with relevant ICT skills.
The event which had in attendance members of the academia, over 15 development partners, and more than 2400 participants is expected to provide ICT-related jobs to over 330 youths.
Recall that on April 25 this year, Huawei Nigeria LTD launched a three-year MOU on “ICT Talent Development Cooperation” with the Federal Ministry of Communications and Digital Economy in Abuja, capital of Nigeria, aiming to provide ICT training to 30,000 Nigerians.
Founded in 1987 and headquartered in n Shenzhen, Guangdong, China, Huawei has approximately 195,000 employees and operates in over 170 countries and regions, serving more than three billion people worldwide.
Since coming to Nigeria in 1999, Huawei has trained thousands of youths in ICT information, Cloud Servicing and Artificial Intelligence through the Huawei Academy and partnership with Nigerian universities.
Some Huawei products include; telecommunications equipment, consumer electronics, and various smart devices such as Smartphones, Tablets, and Routers among others.
