The Kaduna State Government hosted the first-ever Kaduna Investment Summit in Hebei Province, China, on Sunday, June 23, 2024.
The summit, which brought together over 70 industrialists and investors from the Hebei Province, was aimed at showcasing the vast investment opportunities available in Kaduna State and making a compelling case for Hebei-based investors to prioritize the state as their investment destination of choice.
Speaking on the event, Governor Uba Sani, who led the Kaduna State delegation, expressed optimism about the outcome of the summit.
“Many of the investors expressed interest in investing in Kaduna State, sought clarifications in several areas, and were given assurances that Kaduna has one of the best investment climates in Nigeria,” the governor said in a press release via his official X (formerly Twitter) handle.
According to the governor, the investors showed particular interest in sectors such as agriculture, energy, manufacturing, and infrastructure development, with follow-up meetings scheduled to further discuss potential partnerships.
The Kaduna Investment Summit is part of a broader effort by the state government to attract foreign direct investment and drive economic growth. The three-day visit to China, which began on June 20th, also saw the Kaduna State delegation meet with the Governor of Hebei Province, His Excellency Wang Zhengpu, to discuss the implementation of a tripartite Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Kaduna State, Hebei Province, and the China Civil Engineering Company Limited (CCECC).
The MoU, which covers various areas of cooperation, including economy, trade, science and technology, energy, agriculture, and infrastructure, is expected to pave the way for the development of the Hebei Industrial Park in Kaduna.
The governor was accompanied on the trip by the Kaduna State Commissioners of Agriculture, Business Innovation and Technology, and Special Adviser, Investments and Promotion.
