Vice-Chancellor of the University of Abuja, Professor Abdul-Rasheed Na’Allah has recalled how the Chinese government provided the technical support needed for the take-off of the railway engineering program at the university.
Prof Na’Allah made the disclosure at a one-day seminar on China-Nigeria Symphony held at the university on Tuesday.
His words, “The University of Abuja has an impressive relationship with the People’s Republic of China. In the next month or two, we are going to have a take-off of the China-sponsored Luban workshop program which will lead to the commencement of our degree program in railway engineering. The Luban workshop has sponsored some of our colleagues to China for several training in railway engineering.
“We are working very closely with Tianjin Railway College and the Sino-German University. A lot of equipment has come here and we are on the verge of installing them in the new faculty of engineering.”
The vice-chancellor thanked the Chinese government for always providing support to Nigeria in the areas of infrastructure, trade, and human capital development.
The seminar organized by the university in conjunction with the Chinese Embassy and the Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC), had in attendance Chinese Ambassador Cui Jianchun, reprsentative of AMAC Chairman and members of the university community.
