Music lovers in Nigeria have been thrown into a frenzy following news of a joint music tour between award-winning superstars, Ayo Balogun well known as Wizkid and David Adeleke AKA Davido.
Wizkid, in a recent post on instagram said the tour will take place after his fifth studio album tour tittled ‘More Love, Less Ego’.
The post reads, “After my MLLE tour!! Davido and I are going on tour! Save your coins! I no wan hear pim!!.”
Though details of the tour are still sketchy, fans of artists popularly known as Wizkid FC and 30 Billion Gang took to social media to celebrate what they tag the “biggest collaboration of the decade”.
Farouq Yahaya, in a post on Twitter, expressed excitement about this development.
“This Wizkid and Davido tour announcement is huge! Big Wiz and OBO together? Not even on a song! A whole tour,” Yahaya wrote.
Another Twitter user, identified as Olamide, while describing the music duo as Afrobeats legends, said the tour would shake the world.
Using her handle, @olamideofficial, she wrote, “Wizkid and Davido’s tour? The world will feel this one. Afrobeats legends taking the world by storm.”
Some other netizens used hilarious clips and memes to react to the announcement.
For over a decade now, fans of both artists have been locked in a supremacy battle over who is the biggest and most successful musician in Nigeria.
It is hoped that the tour between the two biggest artists in Nigeria will bring harmony among fans and cement Nigeria’s place as the music powerhouse of the black race.
