Two Chinese expatriates, identified as Chen Wenguang and Liang Ding, were kidnapped by armed assailants on Sunday, August 11, in the Kemta/Abule-Owu area along Onigbedu Road.
The pair was reportedly abducted after leaving Good One Carton Company, where they had been working, to visit friends in the vicinity. Eyewitnesses described the scene as chaotic, with gunmen swiftly overpowering the victims.
Following the abduction, the kidnappers reached out to the company, demanding a ransom for the safe return of the expatriates. The specific amount requested has not been disclosed.
In response to the alarming situation, police operatives have launched an extensive search operation in the Kemta forest area, aiming to locate and rescue the victims as quickly as possible.
