The Abuja Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI) has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of former President of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari.
In a heartfelt press statement, ACCI President Chief Emeka Obegolu described Buhari as a resolute leader, a disciplined patriot, and a statesman whose contributions to Nigeria’s unity and economic development will remain unforgettable.
The ACCI highlighted Buhari’s commitment to fostering collaboration between the public and private sectors during his presidency.
“His administration actively engaged with the Chamber and other organized private sector groups, incorporating their recommendations into policies aimed at driving economic growth.
“A significant milestone was Buhari’s pivotal role in commissioning the ACCI Business and Exhibition Complex, a landmark achievement that underscored his dedication to creating an enabling environment for businesses,” the statement said.
Buhari’s social investment initiatives, including the Government Enterprise and Empowerment Program (GEEP) and N-Power, were also praised for their impact on Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs). These programs created jobs and alleviated poverty, leaving a lasting legacy in Nigeria’s economic landscape.
In a gesture of mourning, the ACCI has lowered its flags to honor Buhari’s contributions to the nation. The Chamber extended its condolences to the Buhari family, his associates, and all Nigerians, praying for the repose of his soul.
“May his legacy of discipline, integrity, and service continue to guide us all,” the statement added.
The passing of former President Buhari marks the end of an era for Nigeria, as the nation reflects on his enduring contributions to its progress.
