The commitment of the Chinese government to cultural harmony was rewarded as the Chinese contingent won the Best Creative Packaging and Best Pavilion innovation awards at the just concluded 15th International Arts and Craft (INAC) expo organized by the National Council of Arts and Culture at the Sheraton Hotels and Towers, Abuja.
Mr Li Xuda, Cultural Affairs Counsellor and Director of the China Cultural Center, who received the awards on behalf of the Chinese Ambassador thanked the organizers of the event for bringing together different countries of the world to showcase their cultures and build bridges of friendship and unity for mutual prosperity.
The three-day expo which began on the 18th of August with the theme ”Networking Nigerian Crafts to the World” had cultural exhibitions from 11 states of the federation and 16 countries including the Peoples Republic of China.
Earlier in his remarks, Chief Otunba Runsewe, Director General of the National Council for Arts and Culture thanked the Chinese government and other participating counties for making the event a huge success.
The event with over 35 Ambassadors, Diplomats and Heads of Missions witnessed musical and cultural performances and the exhibition of various arts and crafts from Nigeria and other participating nations.
It is hoped that Nigeria will leverage the success recorded at the 2022 EXPO and use culture and tourism as a significant tool for revenue generation and economic growth.
