In recognition of its contribution to the built sector, Sinoma New Material Nigeria Company Limited has received an award of excellence in Fibre Cement Ceiling Design at the just concluded 2022 Africa Housing Awards held at the International Conference Center in Abuja on Thursday.
Coordinator of the event, Festus Adebayo in his welcome address said the Housing Awards is an annual event that celebrates and promotes excellence in the housing and construction industry by recognizing the success of firms, individuals, teams, or companies who are setting trends in innovative construction, consistency in high industry standards and market expansion.
According to him, the African Housing Awards, widely regarded as the most credible and prestigious award in Africa’s Housing Industry is a way of showcasing organisations’ and people’s abilities and rewarding their achievements in the housing industry.
Jackie Dai, Deputy Managing Director who received the award on behalf of the firm thanked the organizers for the honour and promised to improve the quality, innovation and affordability of their products.
“I am very happy to be here to receive this award on behalf of our company, Sinoma New Material Company Limited, a subsidiary of China National Building Material Group (CNBM), a global leader in the built sector.
“This new building material, Fibre Cement Board is a new technology that is environmentally friendly and the first in Africa. Our first factory is in Nigeria and this gives Nigerians the opportunity of getting this product without importation. We can now export this product to other ECOWAS countries hence improving the economy and foreign exchange. In the coming years, we hope to see more people patronizing us.

Incorporated in 2022, New Material Company Limited is a Chinese firm based in the Federal Capital Territory Abuja, with warehouses in Lagos, Kaduna, Kano, Ebonyi, Rives and Ogun States.
It specializes in the manufacture of Fiber Cement Board, a new material in the built community used for external wall siding systems, interior wall decoration systems, ceiling systems, flooring systems and partition wall systems among others.
Fibre cement board which can be used in residential, commercial and industrial buildings as well as schools and hospitals is widely seen as a better alternative to bricks and POP because it is eco-friendly, affordable, durable, saves time and is resistant to weather, water, fire, termite, with superior sound insulation.
