The 134th edition of the China Import and Export Fair, also known as the Canton Fair, will commence on October 15, 2023, in Guangzhou, the capital of South China’s Guangdong Province.
Here are quick facts about the much-anticipated trade fair.
1. Hosted by the China Foreign Trade Center, the Canton Fair is jointly sponsored by the Ministry of Commerce and the government of Guangdong Province.
2. The fair is expected to cover a 1.55 million square meters exhibition area with exhibitors drawn from different parts of the world.
3. The exhibition for the fair will take place in phases, with the first phase beginning October 15 to 19. The second phase is from October 23-27, while the third phase starts from October 31-November 4, 2023.
4. Some exhibition items include electronics, home appliances, industrial manufacturing, vehicles and two-wheelers, lighting and electricals, kitchen utensils, fashion, textiles and stationeries.
5. The fair is expected to enhance trade relations between China and 229 countries and regions across the world.
6. The cumulative export transaction volume of the fair is 1.5 trillion US dollars, while the number of overseas purchasers attending the fair and online viewing exceeds 10 million people.
7. Founded in 1957, the fair promotes trade and friendly exchanges between China and other countries and regions in the world.
