The finals and closing ceremony of the “Haopeng Cup” – The 10th Basketball League of the Nigeria-China General Chamber of Commerce took place on Sunday, December 10, at CGC Basketball Court, Abuja, Nigeria.
Over 500 people, including Wang Yingqi, Minister Counselor of the Economic and Commercial Section of the Chinese Embassy in Nigeria; Li Xuda, Cultural Counselor of the Chinese Embassy in Nigeria; Zhang Zhichen, President of the China General Chamber of Commerce in Nigeria and Executive Director of China Civil Engineering Nigeria Company Limited; Zhong Xiang, General Manager of CGCOC Nigeria Company Limited; Chen Ze, Chairman of China Harbor Nigeria Company Limited; Wu Kui, General Manager of Huawei Nigeria Limited; Cui Guangzhen, Secretary-General of the China General Chamber of Commerce in Nigeria; Yang, Deputy General manager of Haopeng Company, headline sponsors of the tournament; business leaders, guests and Chinese and Nigerian audiences attended the finale.
After a pulsating, entertaining and keenly contested encounter, CGCOC Nigeria Limited defeated CCECC Nigeria Limited to emerge champions of the tournament, while CCECC emerged as first runner-up. China Helian emerged as second runner-up, while CNEEC Limited won the Spiritual Civilization Award.
Lyu BoWei of CGCOC won the coveted Most Valuable Player award for his excellent performance in the tournament.
Nine companies with 135 people participated in the week-long competition organized by the China-Nigeria General Chamber of Commerce to promote harmony, sportsmanship and friendship among Chinese enterprises in Nigeria.
