President Bola Tinubu on Wednesday held special bilateral talks with the Special Envoy of the Chinese President, Xi Jinping, and Vice Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress, Peng Qinghua.
Nigeria Today reports that Mr Peng, who is the leader of the Chinese delegation to the inauguration ceremony of Tinubu on May 29, arrived at the Villa around 3.30 pm after which he was ushered into the President’s office.
The delegation also includes the Chinese Ambassador to Nigeria, Cui Jianchun and his deputy.
Although the details of the bilateral meeting were yet to be made public, the leaders were expected to discuss key areas of collaboration between Nigeria and the People’s Republic of China.
Since the establishment of diplomatic relations in 1971, Nigeria and China have enjoyed win-win cooperation in the areas of trade, investment, foreign policy, education and technology transfer.
