Number of drug users drops by 20.3% in China

Yin Mingyan is the deputy head of a law-enforcing team under a border management bureau in Dehong Dai and Jingpo Autonomous Prefecture, southwest China's Yunnan Province. Back in 1997 when she was still in high school, she lost her brother Yin Mingzhi, a counter-narcotics officer who was seriously wouded and killed while arresting drug traffickers. She joined the military upon graduation in 1998, and soon decided to fit in her brother's shoes and became a counter-narcotics officer. She has been involved in more than 100 drug-related cases since then, resulting in the arrest of at least 230 suspects and the seizure of over 400 kilograms of drugs. (Xinhua/Hu Chao)
