The highly anticipated China-Africa Economic and Trade Expo (CAETE) and the China Engineering Technology Exhibition are scheduled from November 28 to 30, 2024, at the Abuja Trade and Convention Center (ACCI), marking a significant step in enhancing economic ties between China and Africa.

The event will open daily at 9 AM and is sponsored by the Secretariat of the CAETE Organizing Committee and Nigeria’s Federal Ministry of Industry, Trade and Investment.

The expo successfully held three previous sessions and aims to create a robust platform for local economic and trade cooperation. The third session in Changsha, Hunan, in June 2023, saw impressive participation, with 120 projects signed, totalling USD 10.3 billion in investments. The exhibition area spanned 100,000 square meters, featuring over 1,700 exhibitors from Chinese and African enterprises, business associations, and financial institutions.

This year’s expo is set to play a critical role in implementing the Dakar Action Plan of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation. It will focus on innovative development and enhancing the brand influence of the expo across Africa, serving as a pilot zone for deep economic and trade cooperation between the two regions.

Exhibition Areas:

The expo will feature a diverse range of exhibition areas, including:

1. New Energy: Showcasing products such as new energy vehicles, solar equipment, and wind power generation devices.

2. Architecture: Highlighting construction hardware, including steel, door and window fittings, and plumbing equipment.

3. Machinery: Featuring construction machinery like excavators and cranes, as well as agricultural equipment such as seeders and harvesters.

4. Power Transmission and Transformation: Presenting transformers, switch cabinets, wires, and cables essential for energy infrastructure.

5. Home Appliances & Furniture: Displaying a variety of home appliances and furniture products such as refrigerators, air conditioners, and washing machines, sofas, beds, tables and chairs.

6. Manufacturing: Featuring automotive parts, electronic components, and industrial robots.

7. Pan-Infrastructure: Showcasing materials for road and bridge construction, public facility equipment, and communication networks.

8. Circular Economy: Focused on environmental protection and resource recycling.

9. Comprehensive Area: Displaying foods, agricultural products, and unique African commodities.

Major Events:

The expo will also host several key events aimed at fostering collaboration and dialogue, including:

– Opening Ceremony and China-Africa (Nigeria) Infrastructure Cooperation Forum
– China-Africa Business Matching Conference
– China-Africa Economic and Trade Exchange and Matchmaking Conference**
– China-Africa (Nigeria) Pharmaceutical and Health Industry Cooperation Conference

As the countdown to the expo continues, expectations are high for the event to further strengthen the economic partnership between China and Africa, paving the way for future collaborations and investments. The China-Africa Economic and Trade Expo 2024 promises to be a significant milestone in advancing shared economic goals and fostering sustainable development across the continent.
