In a determined effort to fulfil his commitment to providing an effective transportation system for the people of Lagos, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu departed Lagos on Tuesday for Beijing, the capital of China.
During the visit, the governor will engage in trade and investment discussions with top officials of the China Civil Engineering Construction Company (CCECC) at the company’s headquarters. Sanwo-Olu will conduct inspections of the Signaling System and Metro projects being executed by CCECC in Beijing.
The governor will travel to Dalian later in the week for a visit to the headquarters of the China Railway Rolling Stock Corporation (CRRC) and the CRRC Lvshun base.
A high-level official meeting with the Head of CRRC Dalian is also on the agenda, along with a technical discussion on the Diesel Multiple Units (DMUs) for the Red Line and Electric Multiple Units (EMUs) for the Blue Line involving the Lagos Metropolitan Area Transport Authority (LAMATA), CCECC, and CRRC Dalian.
Accompanying Governor Sanwo-Olu on the trip are the Honorable Commissioner for Transportation, Mr Seun Osiyemi, Chairman of the House Committee on Transportation, Honorable Temitope Adewale, Chairman of the House Committee on Environment Parastatals, Honorable Rasheed Shabi, Managing Director of LAMATA, Mrs. Abimbola Akinajo, Director of Rail Transport, Mr. Olasunkanmi Okusaga, and other officials.
The Governor and his entourage are expected to return to Lagos after a week.
