Chief Emeka Obegolu was inaugurated as the 12th President of the Abuja Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI) in a grand ceremony held at the International Conference Centre in Abuja on the 8th of February, 2024.

The event was graced by distinguished personalities, including the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon Benjamin Kalu, Royal Fathers, Members of the National Assembly, Government Officials, Members of the Diplomatic Community, Legal Practitioners, Business Executives, Captains of Industry, as well as friends and well-wishers.

In his acceptance speech, Chief Emeka Obegolu outlined his vision to revamp the ACCI and enhance its role in promoting trade, investments, and economic development within the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja and Nigeria as a whole.  He emphasized a multi-pronged strategy focusing on collaboration, data-driven decisions, internal excellence, and strategic partnerships to achieve these objectives.

Chief Obegolu pledged to prioritize the completion of ongoing projects and initiate new ones to enhance the chamber’s efficiency and productivity.

Other speakers at the event congratulated him on his inauguration and expressed confidence in his ability to transform and reposition the ACCI as a key player in driving trade, investment, and economic growth in Nigeria.

Chief Obegolu succeeds Alhaji Al-Mujtaba Abubakar following his election at the 33rd Annual General Meeting (AGM) of ACCI along with other newly elected officials.

Established in 1986, the ACCI is the largest chamber of commerce in Nigeria with over 1,000 members. It is a member of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) and the Federation of West African Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FEWACCI).

The inauguration of Chief Emeka Obegolu marks a new chapter for the ACCI, promising a period of transformation and progress under his leadership.
